Entry: Morbius

Planet of Origin: Gallifrey
Description: In life Morbius had short hair, and Romanesque features. His brain was later transplanted into a monsterous host-body.
Special Abilities/Skills: Morbius possessed the same skills and knowledge most Time-Lords possess. In addition, he was extremely persuasive and charismatic, and was a master of mental combat.
Weaponry: His last artifical body possessed great physical strength, and lungs capable of filtering out most toxins, including deadly cyanide gas. His greatest weapon, however, was his mind.
Weaponry: Though a highly-skilled Time Lord, Morbius had drifted towards insanity and megalomania.
Summary: Morbius was once a high-ranking official in Time-Lord High Counsil. However, he became ambitious and twisted, trying to influence the Time-Lords into a way of conquest. To realize his aims, he eventually planned to wrest the control of the mysterious Elixir of Life from the Sisterhood of Karn, who had carefully guarded the Elixir for ages. Morbius was eventually expelled from the High-Counsil, and left Gallifrey, eventually raising a small army of like-minded followers. However, his attempt to steal the Elixir failed when the Time Lords intervened, defeating Morbius and his cult. For his crimes, Morbius was sentenced to death by molecular dispersal by the High Council. However, for reasons unknown, the living Brain of Morbius survived and was secreted away from Gallifrey by members of the Cult of Morbius.

Eventually, one of the members, a renowned Earth surgeon named Mehendri Solon sought to build Morbius a new physical body, and in a case of hiding in plain-sight, he retreated to Karn to use as his base of operations. Some years later, the Celestial Intervention Agency learned of this, and sent the fourth Doctor to investigate. The Doctor arrived just in time, but his efforts were met by distrust on the part of the Sisterhood, who's sacred flame seemed to be dying. Things quickly spiraled out of Solon's control, and in an altercation with his brutish man-servant Condo, Morbius' brain was spilled from its container. Solon immediately grafted the brain onto a monsterous host-body, made from the body-parts of several alien-species, and protecting the Brain itself with an artificial brain-case of his own design.

Solon was only partially successful, and died shortly of cyanide poisoning after completing the surgery, when the Doctor made his escape from Solon's secondary lab. The reborn Morbius was then thwarted in a mind-war with the Doctor, and reduced to a bestial, instinctive state. He was subsequently driven off a cliff and into a deep gorge by the Sisterhood of Karn. He has not surfaced since, and must be presumed dead...at last.
