The Seventh Doctor:![]()
PERSONALITY: At first, somewhat clownish, with a penchant for juggling and slight-of-hand, the seventh Doctor eventually settled into his new form. He became quite enigmatic, with somewhat questionable motivations. Very cunning and devious, at times manipulating his foes like peices on a chessboard, the seventh Doctor sometimes seemed to be something other than what he had always seemed to be before. With hints that perhaps he was more than just a Time-Lord, the nature of the seventh Doctor was not always reassuring. QUOTE: "Your species has the most amazing capacity for self-deception, matched only by its ingenuity when trying to destroy itself." STORIES: 12, from Time and the Rani, through Survival. MILESTONES: Time and the Rani: The Doctors TARDIS is forcefully crash-landed, forcing his regeneration (Colin Baker had been fired, and Sylvester McCoy was disguised as the previous Doctor for the regeneration scene). Remembrance of the Daleks: Establishes the reason for the Doctor's presence on 76' Totters Lane in 1963. Silver Nemesis: 25th anniversary show. Battlefield: The Brigadier returns. Survival: The last Doctor WHO story transmitted by the BBC. My Thoughts: Now that I have seen more adventures starring Sylvester McCoy, I have cemented something of a liking for his Dark version of the Doctor... however, the less said about his first handful of serials, the better. All the mysteries surrounding his 7th Incarnation made the show very refreshing. It was a strange feeling to not always trust the Doctor after all those years. Its a shame we may never completely know what direction his Doctor would have taken had he had a few more seasons under his belt. The show was on a definite up-trend at the end of his third year in the role. But that was not enough, unfortunately, for the BBC Brass. I was well and truly pleased that he took part in the FOX Doctor Who TV Movie, his presence helped make that film as legitimate to me as any WHO adventures long since past.

Best Companion(s): The 7th Doctor's companion, Ace, is widely recognized as the most fully-realized companion, and also the most popular. In many ways derivative of Tegan and Leela, but Ace is very distinctive. A tomboy with a passion for fragmenting things with High Explosives, Ace was stubborn, hotheaded, and courageous. She decided that she wished to travel with the Doctor because she was bored with her life as a waitress on Iceworld.
She and the Doctor were a team, plain and simple. At times like a father and daughter, and other times more like Older brother and younger sister, their relationship was a close one. She was still with the Doctor during the last regular Doctor WHO story "Survival", but as the Doctor is traveling alone at the beginning of "Enemy Within" (the FOX TV Movie), she had evidently departed for reasons unknown.
