Entry: The Daleks

Planet of Origin: Skaro
Description: Ameboid organisms encased in metallic Travel Units. The basic form of the basic Dalek travel-unit has remained almost unaltered. Specialized units, however, have vastly different designs.
Special Abilities/Skills: The Dalek travel-units are hardened against many forms of conventional attack, and it takes high-powered weapons to punch through their armor. Also, the travel-units contain a host of sensory-enhancements, and also protect the Daleks from the harshest environmental conditions. The Daleks also possess extremely-advanced technology.
Weaponry: Standard disruptor type weapon. Officers and Advanced models use Particle Beam emitters. Daleks can be equipped with mission-specific weapons as needed.
Weaknesses: The Daleks are totally convinced of their innate superiority, and are thus suprememely confident that their aims to become the dominant life-forms in the Uiniverse will eventually succeed. This overconfidence can be used against them, Also, despite being organic, the Daleks are nonetheless extremely logical, and can be confounded by the more intuitive and imanginative thought-processes of other beings. The basic Dalek travel-unit also provides limited maneverability and dexterity, limitations which have led Daleks to enslave races like the Ogrons. Lastly, the Daleks are almost helpless outside of their travel-units.
Summary: Arguably the most ruthless and evil lifeforms in the Universe, the Daleks are the twisted result of the insanely brilliant Kaled scientist, Davros. Throughout their history, the Daleks have remorselessly advanced through the cosmos, crushing less-able races under-heel. Their relentless menace has been the single greatest argument against the Gallifreyan philosophy of non-intervention.

Originally from the war-torn planet of Skaro, the Daleks were originally designed as travel machines to house the small, squid-like lifeforms the mutating Kaleds would ultimately evolve into. However, Davros expanded and twisted that orginal notion, however, and the Daleks instead ended up as combat machines. Housed in nearly impenatrable metal housings, and armed with powerful disruptor weapons, the Daleks are truly formidable foes. However, they aren't without weaknesses.

The minds of the Daleks have been altered to such an extent, that the only remaining emotions within them are hate, pride, and the desire to conquer. Their thinking is largely logical, and they can be confused and thwarted by illogical planning. The Daleks are acutely aware of this defficiency, and have attempted to overcome it several times, with mixed success. While there is evidence that the Daleks will eventually be undone by their own ambitions, their ultimate defeate is by no means assured. The Daleks have developed functional time-travel technology second only to our own in effectiveness, and they are possibly the greatest threat to freedom in the Cosmos.

Threat Level: EXTREME
